Kelly Eger-Smith to present at the 37th Annual Florida Chamber Foundation Environmental Permitting Summer School July 18-21, 2023

For the 16th consecutive year, AEC’s President, Kelly Eger-Smith, has been invited to serve as an instructor at the 37th Annual Florida Chamber Foundation’s Environmental Permitting Summer School to be held July 18-21, 2023, in Marco Island, Florida. Founded in 1968, the Florida Chamber Foundation is a business-led, solutions development and research organization, working in partnership with state business leaders to secure Florida’s future. 

Kelly’s conference course titled “Keeping Your Eye on the Ball: Scoping the Appropriate Environmental Due Diligence for the Project” will discuss appropriate scoping of the environmental due diligence process, taking into consideration current and prior land uses and the user’s project objectives. The panelists will also discuss the importance of the environmental professional’s opinion and when and how to recommend additional investigation; practical considerations in closing land transactions when there are unresolved issues and how to address those issues and much more. The Annual Environmental Permitting Summer School is the Florida Chamber Foundation’s largest short course. More than 1,000 attorneys, consultants, engineers, state and local government officials, developers, landowners and others will unite to discuss environmental issues in Florida including energy and growth management laws, rules and programs.
